San Mateo County Jobs for Youth County of San Mateo Jobs For Youth Each year, San Mateo County Jobs for Youth served approximately 3,000 youth with employment services.

The San Mateo County Jobs for Youth (SMCJFY) program is a year-round program under the umbrella of the San Mateo County Human Resources, SMCJFY helps young adults who reside in San Mateo County, ages 14 to 21. Services do not have specific eligibility or income requirements and are available to serve all youth regardless of socio-economic or risk level. Contact Us: [email protected]

What would you do with $2,000 for higher education? We will award 20 youth with a $2,000 JFY Al Teglia Scholarship at our Level Up! Celebration in May of 2026!

We wanted to extend one final, heartfelt Thank You to everyone who supported, attended, and contributed towards this year's incredible Light the Way Scholar Celebration! It is an honor and a privilege to be in community with so many people who are committed to the youth of San Mateo County. Here is to an amazing celebration and to all of you who made it possible! New this year at the San Mateo County Fair! Join us for this inspiring afternoon of poetry featuring all of the County’s Poet Laureates, past and present! There will also be youth poets, community poets and city poet laureates. The event will close with amazing music and vocals by Lyrical Opposition. Also not to be missed is the fine art area including decorative skateboards, a Dia de los Mu***os exhibit featuring work from Fernando Escartiz, and so much more! Hope to see you there on June 1! Stop by the OFfice of Arts and Vulture and Arts Commission table to say hello.
