Be Alert for Phishing Scams
PTA officers are receiving phishing emails that are spoofed (to look as though it was from the PTA President) asking for an immediate payment to a vendor. These emails or texts are scams!
Follow proper PTA financial procedures – follow your budget, pre-approve bills at meetings, use Payment Authorization Forms prior to every check and electronic transfer, have two officer signatures on every check and electronic transfer form, and NEVER use gift cards.
