The Commission on the Status of Women of San Mateo County is a non-partisan appointed body that advises the County Board of Supervisors. It was established by the Board of Supervisors in 1982 to provide leadership in developing policies, programs and legislation that address the needs of women, girls and families. The Commission makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors and involves the co

mmunity to help broaden opportunity, identify and remedy gender discrimination, and also to honor the achievements of San Mateo County women.
