Redwood City School District

Redwood City School District RCSD is an innovative & award-winning PreK-8 district serving students in Redwood City and portions of Atherton, Menlo Park, San Carlos and Woodside.

For more than 100 years, our district has educated K-8 students in Redwood City, and portions of San Carlos, Menlo Park, Atherton and Woodside. With a legacy of graduating leaders in our community and beyond, our current mission is to educate every child for success in the 21st century. As our students prepare to live and work in an increasingly global economy, rigor is more important than ever be

fore. We have put in place a strategic academic plan designed to provide students with the academic building blocks they need to thrive in high school, college, and eventually in the workforce.

“As I retire, I do so with tremendous gratitude and confidence in the future of this district. RCSD is filled with caring people, talented educators, dedicated staff, and extraordinary students. The future is bright because of all of you.
As I pass the torch to Dr. Rubalcaba, I do so knowing this community will continue moving forward with compassion, strength, and a shared commitment to children. Dr. Rubalcaba is a thoughtful and dedicated leader who cares deeply about students, all staff, families, and public education.
Thank you for believing in me, supporting me, challenging me, and walking alongside me throughout this incredible journey.
It has truly been one of the greatest privileges of my life to serve this community."
With heartfelt gratitude,
Dr. John Baker
