Library Honey is Back in Stock!

Spring 2026 harvest is available for sale in the Friends Bookstore at the Downtown Library! The bees hives are located on the roof of Downtown Library. Honey is local, raw, and delicious!

Jars are $10 each. All proceeds benefit library programming!

You can also purchase online with pickup at the Bookstore. Go to the Friends website (friendsofrwclibrary.org) for link to purchase online.

Summertime!
At the Friends Bookstore (next to the lobby of the Downtown Library), we have loads of fun things to occupy and entertain kids (and adults!) during summer.
We have picture/chapter/young reader books for 50 cents!
We have an entire cart of dragons, dinosaurs, and unicorns.
We have a fun summer cart with workbooks, games, books, and other fun stuff for summer travel.
Visit the Bookstore and stock up for your summer reading journey.
Plus, do not forget to register for the Summer Learning Challenge while at the Library!

Redwood City Library's Summer Learning Challenge starts June 1!

Read the Friends Summer Newsletter to find out how to participate in the challenge and learn about all the wonderful programs at the RWC libraries over the summer!

At the Friends Bookstore at the Downtown Library, there are summer puzzles and loads of summer-themed and activity books to keep everyone entertained all summer long. Need something for a long car ride - stop by the store to stock up on terrific items at a very low price point!

Material Donation Event is this Saturday, May 16th at two Redwood City locations for easy access.
Clean out those books, puzzles, videogames, vinyl, CDs, DVDs and donate them to Friends of the Redwood City Public Library.
Just drive-up and drop-off - super easy and quick!

Luxury Monopoly Edition! for Sale!
A really gorgeous Monopoly edition from 2016 was donated for resell.

The game board is lovely with two drawers that pull out with all the game material.
The metal hotels, chance cards, community cards, metal tokens, and title cards are complete.
There are 4 metal houses missing (has 28 of the 32).
The Monopoly money is included but not a complete set - the buyer will need to purchase a new starter pack of Monopoly money.
The game box has wear and is pictured.

This is a wonderful set for any game room and/or Monopoly lover.

Happy World Book Day!

Mother's Day is Sunday, May 10! Visit the Friends Bookstore next to the lobby of the Downtown Library at 1044 Middlefield Road. We have a lovely cart filled with a variety of books for mom and about mom!

Also, at the store, a wonderful bin full of Star Wars book for May 4th! May the 4th Be With You!

Find Your Library Joy during National Library Week!
Stop by your Redwood City Library between April 19 - 25 to thank the staff for its hard work in making our libraries fabulous.
April 20 is Right to Read Day; stop by the Friends Bookstore and buy a book from our Banned book shelf for yourself or a friend!

National Chair Mychal Threets' message:

Join us on April 26 for Library Day with the San Francisco Giants! Cheer on the Giants while supporting a great cause—$5 from each ticket sold will directly benefit Friends, helping to fund vital library programs. Don’t miss this exciting day of baseball, community and library advocacy.

The Giants encourage guests to stop by China Basin Park, across from McCovey Cove, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. before catching the game. You’ll find books, kids activities, library card signups and more from library systems around the Bay Area.
