Juel Community Gardens

Juel Community Gardens Do you love to garden, but need a space to call your own? Juel Community Gardens offers plots and shed space for seasonal lease.

Gardeners must contribute a minimum of 8 service hours per year. Plots must be actively gardened beginning March and October. Juel Park is named for benefactors Glen and Betty Juel, who purchased the 38 acres in the early 1950s. Throughout the years, the couple raised vegetables, blueberries and flowers amongst the 100 year old trees. In 1999, the Juels sold the property to the City of Redmond at a fraction of market value so their beloved land would remain green and open forever.

In January, the Juel Community Garden page will merge with the City of Redmond - Parks & Recreation page. What does this mean? You may receive a notification that the name of Juel Community Garden was changed to City of Redmond – Parks and Recreation. This change reflects our commitment to providing information to our community in an efficient way.

Don’t worry, the information about Juel Community Garden and other pertinent news from the department will still be available, all from our main account.
