Redkey Police and U.S. Marshals assigned to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, with the assistance of the Randolph County Sheriff's Department, arrested Shawn Crabtree on two felony warrants for Possession of Methamphetamine with a Firearm and other drug related offenses. Crabtree was located hiding in a pile of clothing at a residence in the 4000 block of West County Road 200 South in Randolph County.

🕯️ NATIONAL FENTANYL PREVENTION AND AWARENESS DAY 🕯️

Today, we pause to remember the lives fentanyl has taken from families throughout Grant County.

They were not statistics. They were sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors. Many were good people with caring hearts who became trapped in addiction—and their absence is felt every day by those who loved them.

We also recognize the people working together to prevent another family from experiencing that loss: the Grant County Health Department, the JEAN Team, law enforcement officers, treatment coordinators, probation officers, first responders, recovery professionals and countless others throughout our community. This fight requires prevention, education, treatment, enforcement and compassion.

As law enforcement officers, we will continue pursuing those who knowingly bring this poison into our community and holding them accountable. Compassion belongs to those battling addiction and the families suffering beside them. It must never be twisted into an excuse for those who profit from addiction, misery and death.

Today, we remember every life lost in Grant County. We stand beside every grieving family. We encourage those still struggling to seek help. And we renew our commitment to fighting the poison that has taken far too many of our own.

May those we have lost never be forgotten.

The Redkey Police Department is sending its deepest sympathies and prayers to the Fisher family, the Lynn and Randolph community with the recent loss of Marshal Brad Fisher. Brad was killed this morning while protecting and serving his community. Rest easy Marshal Brad Fisher.

Scammer alert 🚨‼️🚨 A Redkey resident shared with me a transcript from a resident who was targeted by a scam. Please be advised that the Town of Redkey does not have a “Hardship Service Department of Redkey.”

A general rule to keep in mind: if you are uncertain about any request, ask the company or caller to send you a letter via mail. Legitimate entities should already possess your current address and information without requiring you to provide it.
