Best Yard Award Nominations are now OPEN!!

Nominate yourself or someone else for the best yard award in Redford Township. New this year is there will be a special award for MOST PATRIOTIC to celebrate the 250th birthday of USA.

For a yard to be considered, please provide the address, the name of the gardener if you know it, a brief description of the yard and a photo(s) of the OVERALL FRONT YARD if possible.

Nominations accepted until July 15th. To submit your nomination, you can direct message us here on Facebook, email us directly at [email protected] or submit via the form on the township website. If you submit via the form, you will need to email us your photo separately if you have one.

Please note: your lovely BACK yards will not be considered for this particular Award but we know there are some amazing ones out there!

If you have perennials to share, bring them along and please LABEL them. If you don't have any perennials to share, that's ok we always have a plethora to go around. It's a great way to start making your yard more beautiful if you are starting from scratch.
We will have a master gardener on site to help with gardening/growing questions with all kinds of great literature for you as well as the fabulous Redford Township Library with their mobile seed library.

We are down to 2 trees left!!

The trees are FREE to you, you just have to pick up and plant 🙂

And you can attend the perennial exchange when you pick up your tree 🙂

The trees are red-leafed maple trees (Autumn Blaze & Red Sunset) available for you to plant yourself between the sidewalk & street (in the easement) in an effort to restore our tree canopy.
Just as in previous years:
-Trees are ONLY for Redford residents
-The trees are for your easement area as a street tree, not just anywhere in your yard
-You must contact us to RESERVE the tree

There are some changes this year from previous years:
-YOU will pick the tree up from us
-YOU will plant the tree yourself
-Pick up will be at the Perennial Exchange on MAY 9, 9-11 am
