A lovely member of our community is restoring the butterfly garden at Ashcroft and is looking for any butterfly-friendly plants you may have extra of! Let's help him get it back to how great it was looking and feed the butterflies!

Hey Redford neighbors! I am so excited to be bringing back the butterfly garden at Ashcroft again this year, and I’d love your help to make it bigger and brighter for our local pollinators! 🌸🐝
If you have extra flowers, are thinning out your perennial beds, or want to donate some butterfly-friendly plants, we would love to have them!
📍 Where to drop them off: Ashcroft Park / Community Garden (Located at 9501 Sioux, Redford, MI 48239)
No extra work required! You can simply set your donations right next to the garden space and walk away. I will happily handle all the digging, planting, and watering to get them settled into their new home. 🧑‍🌾💪

Nominations accepted until JULY 15th.

For a yard to be considered, please provide the address, the name of the gardener if you know it, a brief description of the yard and photo(s) of the OVERALL FRONT YARD if possible.

Did you know that the Redford Township Beautification Commission plants and cares for three Share the Sunshine Zinnia flower beds? When the flowers are big enough and flowering beautifully, we invite you to pick some and take them home with you!

Zinnias bloom from late spring (depending how early you plant them) until the first frost in fall, and take 60-90 days from planting to flower. We just planted our seeds a couple weeks ago, so they will be flowering in no time!

They are just sprouting up, but you can find the blooms here in a few weeks:

- The Redford Marquee

Best Yard Award Nominations are now OPEN!!

Nominate yourself or someone else for the best yard award in Redford Township. New this year is there will be a special award for MOST PATRIOTIC to celebrate the 250th birthday of USA.

For a yard to be considered, please provide the address, the name of the gardener if you know it, a brief description of the yard and a photo(s) of the OVERALL FRONT YARD if possible.
