CONNECTICUT YOUNG REPUBLICANS ANNOUNCE LAUNCH OF YOUNG REPUBLICAN CAUCUS IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY, PLEDGES FIVE-FIGURE SPEND IN KEY STATE RACES

MIDDLETOWN, CT. – The Connecticut Young Republicans formally launched a Young Republican Caucus in the Connecticut General Assembly during the 2026 Connecticut Republican State Convention at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville. The caucus will serve as a coalition of young Republican legislators dedicated to advancing policies that address the concerns of Connecticut’s next generation.

The caucus will be co-chaired by Representative Joe Hoxha and Senate Leader Stephen Harding. Additional members of the caucus include:
Senator Ryan Fazio
Representative Seth Bronko
Representative Joe Polletta
Representative Chris Stewart
Representative Joe Canino

“The launch of the Young Republican Caucus marks an important step in ensuring the voices and priorities of young people are represented in the policymaking process,” said Connecticut Young Republicans Chairman Patrick Burland. “This caucus will work to elevate issues that matter to young voters, including affordability, home ownership, energy policy, conservation, economic opportunity, and making Connecticut a state where young families and professionals can build their futures.”

"With a fellow young Republican in the Governor's office, we will be able to usher in commonsense, pro-Connecticut reforms that grow our younger population in this state, and bring them back from the states we lost them to in recent years," said Representative Joe Hoxha, House Co-Chair of the CGA Young Republican Caucus.

"Connecticut's young people are continuing to shoulder the burden of Democrats' unaffordable agenda that stifles job growth and opportunity. The Young Republican Caucus will amplify the voices of those forgotten citizens who will go on to write our state's future," said Senator Stephen Harding, the Senate Republican Leader. "Our young Republican leaders are uniquely positioned to carry the torch of making our state more prosperous for generations to come with policies that make Connecticut a premier destination to get an education, find a good-paying job, raise a family, and retire."

The Connecticut Young Republicans have also announced a five-figure financial commitment to be spent in key state Senate and House races to elect more young Republicans and defend current incumbents in the 2026 Election.

The caucus will also work closely with the Connecticut Young Republicans to strengthen Republican outreach to younger voters, support efforts to elect more young Republicans to public office, and help expand the party’s appeal across Connecticut.

Open to Republicans under the age of 41, the Connecticut Young Republicans are focused on recruiting, training, and electing young conservatives across the state. Since relaunching in 2025, the organization has rapidly expanded its membership, launched local chapters across Connecticut, and played an active role in voter outreach and candidate development efforts statewide.

Four people from a Shelton clinic were charged Wednesday in a Medicaid fraud scheme, according to the state Division of Criminal Justice.
