Nova High School, Redding, California Nova High School, Redding, Ca. 96001 Tour the historic school this Thanksgiving. This school housed all of the District’s 9th grade students.

In 1967 a massive educational shuffle occured as in 1950, Shasta Junior College was built on land west of the Shasta High School on Eureka Way and remained there until a new college was built at a site east of Redding in 1967. That year Shasta High moved into the vacated Shasta College facilities to the west

of the Eurka Way campus and the old Shasta High site became Nova High. After 9th grade, the students moved on to Shasta High, Central Valley High (built in 1955) or Enterprise High (built in 1955) for grades 10-12. In 1991, Nova High closed and the 9th grade students were moved back to their respectful high schools for grades 9-12. That same year a new high school, Foothill High School, serving the students in northeast Redding, Palo Cedro, Bella Vista and to the eastern borders of the District was established at the old Nova High campus. This was to be temporary until the District completed a new high school for these students. In 1999, the new Foothill High School was completed and students moved from the site on Eureka Way to Palo Cedro. The Eureka Way site became home to the Shasta Learning Center and later U Prep. The building also today houses a variety of District programs and schools.

Hoping to raise funds for Scholarships to the original Nova Schools of CVHS, SHS and EHS so future generations remember the best educational experiment ever.

Keep the name alive and volunteer. Especially if you have connections to Alumni groups for those three O.G. schools. Most the hard work is done so need help with all reunion aspects so guessing with 20 years plus of classmates your experience will be put to use. Message asap as need to finalise tix, how to do adult beverages, and final food choice.

Need any genre song or gender of vocalist. One slow song with between 70-80 tempo & second uplifting, uptempo radio friendly track. Due to time constraints if you’ve a recorded song that fits the vibes described below that is best but could accept a simple composition easily recorded, perhaps only piano or guitar accompanying.

You retain song ownership & paid profits from independent movie in post-production looking for original Vocal or Instrumental music for their theatrical release in Spring 2024!

Jack Schreder, father of Nova High School, Redding, California may he gone from this world but not forgotten as he passed away Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Schreder Planetarium c/o the Shasta County Office of Education, (write Schreder Planetarium in the memo line), 1644 Magnolia Ave. Redding CA, 96001.

Those wanting to remember him can also donate to the new Jack Schreder Scholarship Fund at the Community Foundation of the North State. Donations can be made online at cfnorthstate.org/donations/jack-schreder-scholarship-fund.
