Great Job by our Truck 181 A-Shift Brothers! They rescued a total of 4 individuals that day on various swift water calls. The tactics they used on one incident were even featured in a Truck Operations Class at FDIC!

Well Done Brothers strong work!

This morning, 3 of our Brothers loaded up and headed North to the Panhandle to provide some much needed hay bales to the ranches affected by the recent wildfires! Thanks you to AJ Jakubik, Josh Nichols, and Gabriel Guerrero for answering the call to help our fellow Texans!

Neighbors Supporting Neighbors!

Neighbors Supporting Neighbors!

We would like to sincerely thank DeSoto Fire Rescue for allowing us to temporarily utilize one of their ambulances so emergency responses to our community are not interrupted.

Mutual aid is a proud tradition in the fire service and exists for large-scale incidents and extraordinary circumstances. It should not be required simply to maintain daily emergency coverage. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing failure to adequately maintain frontline apparatus within our city and a failure to utilize a vehicle replacement plan, this assistance became necessary.

The same urgency shown in pursuing a proposed $63 million city hall should be applied to maintaining the emergency equipment your firefighters and paramedics rely on to serve you safely.

Our firefighters and paramedics remain committed to answering every call for service without hesitation. The citizens we serve deserve reliable equipment, consistent preparedness, and a city that prioritizes public safety infrastructure.

We appreciate your continued support as we advocate for the level of service our community expects and deserves.

Stay Warm!!!

Snow and ice in Texas? Stranger things have happened. ❄️

An Arctic cold front is expected to move into North Texas on Friday, bringing a cold rain that will transition to freezing rain, sleet, and possibly snow as temperatures fall below freezing. Icy roads, power outages, dangerously cold temperatures, and freezing rain are possible

As you stay weather aware for this weekend, remember these winter fire safety tips:
🔥 Keep space heaters at least 3 feet away from anything that can burn and turn them off when you leave the room or go to bed
🔥 Use generators outdoors only, away from doors and windows
🔥 Plug all heating appliances directly into wall outlets, not power strips or extension cords. Keep them on a hard and level surface.
🔥 Never leave a fire in the fireplace unattended.
🔥 Do not use stoves or ovens to heat homes.

Stay warm, stay alert, limit travel as much as possible, and let’s keep Red Oak on the right side of the Upside Down this weekend.

🎄❤️ Every year, the success of our fundraiser allows us to help make a family’s Christmas a little brighter. This year, we were proud to partner with the Knight family (Santa & Mrs. Claus), Chick-fil-A, and Red Oak ISD once again. Thank you to the Department and City admin for allowing on duty crews participate and utilize apparatus to bring smiles to the kids faces!

We all face life’s struggles, and we hope this contribution brings this family some relief, joy, and happiness during the holiday season. This event is always heartwarming and reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas—giving, compassion, and love—just as God gave us His Son, Jesus Christ.

May everyone experience joy and happiness this Christmas season.

🎅🚒 Merry Christmas from the Red Oak Firefighters Association 🎄
