It was a great (but hot) day for Eagle Cross Country at Ward Ranch today!

Congratulations to Garrett Gooch on his 10th place finish in the JH boys’ division, Huck Needham on his 10th place finish, and to all of our Eagles for braving the heat…and thanks to Coach Taylor Davis for leading the way today!

It is with deep sadness that we share that our Red Oak family has experienced the loss of one of our students.

Our hearts are with the student's family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We ask that our community respect the family's privacy
as they grieve and navigate this difficult loss.

We know that the loss of a student affects our entire school family. Our counselor and crisis support counselors will be available tomorrow and throughout the week to provide support to students and staff who may need someone to talk with or simply need a place to process their feelings.

If you know your student needs extra support, please contact the office. Our deepest sympathy and thoughts are with the family and loved ones.
As a parent, if you need support talking with you child about su***de, we are attaching information in a post in the parent square app to assist with this. We encourage you to check on your child’s mental well being as we will continue to do so here.

Please know that school administration is aware of the "Cat in the Hat" social media trend. We are working with law enforcement, and taking appropriate precautions to help ensure the safety and security of our students and staff. Our SRO, administration and IT personnel will continue to monitor our students and enforce safety measures.

At this time, we ask students, parents, and community members not to engage with, respond to, or share concerning messages or posts from such accounts. Anyone who has received direct communication from the an account or who has additional information should preserve all messages, screenshots, usernames, and other relevant information and contact Red Oak Public Schools administration or law enforcement.

We understand that situations involving social media can cause concern for students and families so parents please monitor your kids accounts by having them show you their socials and familiarize yourself with such trends to protect your students and community. Please be assured that the safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority.

Due to the difficult day our community, families and students are experiencing, all softball and baseball games are cancelled today.

Please call the school if you have concerns or need help talking to your children about the situation; we have crisis counselors for students and staff on site.
