On Saturday members of our club helped cleanup trash along Route 624/Craley Rd.
In the spring and fall we clean up trash on one side of the route.
They collected approximately 12 bags of garbage and various large items.

From cleaning up around the Leo Center, spring cleaning at Grace Lutheran, tidying up the Red Lion Mile, gardening at Fairmount Park, refreshing a wheelchair ramp for a neighbor, or power-washing and cleaning at Community Reach, there are plenty of volunteer activities to choose from.

At our Happy Hour meeting last week we prepared the tree seedlings that members of our club and from Dallastown High School Interact will distribute this week to the kindergartners at all Red Lion kindergarten classes and to the kindergartners at Dallastown Elementary. They will also read an Earth Day story while visiting to give the seedlings. This is a tradition the club has been doing for decades!

Today our club went around the Red Lion and Dallastown area planting Liberty Trees. From Stewartstown to York Township and many places in between our members worked together to plant sycamore trees in honor of the country's 250th celebration!

Today was a great reminder that yes we are a club, but we're also like family! Great time, great memories and lots of hard work but when done together makes it seem so fun and easy!

Members of our club have been visiting the Interact Club at Dallastown High School to see what they've been up to! They have been hard at work making their snuffle mats they will be donating to the SPCA and preparing for their courtyard cleanup and road cleanup! Our club was invited to join them for the cleanups, and they will be joining us to read to the kindergartners at Dallastown Elementary and giving them seedlings for Earth Day! Our April field trip was to the Dallas Theater in Dallastown, where owner Cal Weary showed us around this Dallastown Borough landmark. Cal, CEO of Weary Arts Group and fellow Rotarian in the Downtown York Club, talked about the history of the building, how/when he acquired it, explained the current use and his hopes for the future of the building. Cal also shared about Weary Arts Group, when he started it, things they have done over the last decade and how they work with local high schools to run theater programs, in addition to the work at York College.

After the tour of the Dallas Theater we headed down to Roma's Pizza in Dallastown for a delicious lunch.

Our May field trip is to Dallastown School to learn more about their Cat Pack Program.

At our meeting on Thursday March 19th we recognized our first ever Shining Star Students of the Month! These students are juniors at Dallastown and Red Lion who are actively engaged in their communities and classrooms, and who demonstrate good character.

From Dallastown Area School District we recognized Michael Iovene and Logan Craft.
From Red Lion Area School District we recognized Peighton Geib and Owen Anderson

These kids can be found helping at Parma Pizza, Jerry's, or playing on their school's Unified Team with track or bocce ball! You might find Peighton dancing around to some Taylor Swift too!

We are so proud of the work you all are doing in your classrooms and community! Keep up the great work!

On Saturday, volunteers from our club helped out at Community REACH, Inc. for their Saturday pickup.

This month some of their family members joined in on helping give back to our community too!
