Equay Wiigamig Women's Shelter Equay Wiigamig's mission is to provide steadfast support to victims of Domestic Violence.

We provide 24 hr 365 day emergency shelter, a safe environment, crisis intervention, individual support, educational sessions/ talking circles. Our extended services include: transportation, referrals, safety planning, legal advocacy, acceptance, craft sessions, systems advocacy. Equay Wiigamig also has a extended program called Giiwitaa Ododewisiwin/Circle of family that promotes cultural traditi

ons such as regalia making, drum and drum stick making, men's night which includes Moccasin game teachings and drum/singing, and referrals to any cultural ceremonies

All staff at Equay Wiigamig and the Red Lake community center would like to thank everyone for participating in our 3rd Annual “Honor our Women” side steppin’ social. It was so nice to see all the smiling faces and to share the evening with positivity 💜 We would also like to thank Red Lake Propane and Rob May for donating. Can’t wait to see you all next year!

Women are encouraged to wear skirts, if you don’t have one come anyway, if you are on moon there is space for you.

Men are encouraged to attend l, it’s known that men carry large burdens also.
