Eagle River Fire Protection District's Slash Removal/Chipping Program is coming to Red Cliff! Have slash piles stacked by May 24 for pickup.

🚨 EAGLE VALLEY WILDLAND – COMMUNITY CHIPPING PROGRAM IS BACK 🚨

Wildfire mitigation starts at your home—and this is one of the easiest ways to reduce risk around your property.

Our May 2026 Community Slash Removal / Chipping Program is officially scheduled. We’re covering multiple communities across Eagle County with set pickup dates—all you have to do is stack your piles correctly and on time.

👉 Why this matters:
Every branch, every pile, every cleared space = less fuel for wildfire.
This is how we protect neighborhoods before the smoke shows up.

👉 What to do:
✔️ Stack clean slash piles (branches/logs under 15”)
✔️ Place within 5 ft of roadway
✔️ Follow your community deadline (see flyer 👆)

🚫 No construction debris, trash, or mixed piles

This program has already removed millions of pounds of hazardous fuels across Eagle County—and we’re just getting started.

This is your chance to take action. Don’t wait until it’s too late.

Staff is fertilizing the ball field next to the school today. We know this is the best place to bring your dogs to run but we ask to please stay out of the area for at least a week (April 9). For safety purposes, please keep the dogs and kids off of the grass. 👧🏽🐶🚫🌱

🚍 Good news for Red Cliff riders!

With the new Core Transit English/Core Transit Español summer schedule announced, we’re glad to share that Red Cliff will continue to have three daily in-town pickups to Vail and two return trips - no reductions for the summer season.

Even better? Youth ride FREE, making it easy for kids and teens to travel to Leadville, Gypsum, and everywhere in between all summer long. 🙌

⛽ Public transit is one small way to help stretch your budget while staying connected across the valley.

👉 Check out the full schedule, which starts April 12, and plan your ride!https://coretransit.org/wp-content/uploads/Minturn-Poster-Summer-2026.pdf

We might be known for our dark sky star gazing but the daytime cloud watching is pretty spectacular too.
