Wake up America - we need to make change happen on November 3rd

Reading’s community partners join together to make sure meals are available.

🍎 🥪 We understand that some of our families rely on the availability of school meals for proper nourishment. In order to help with this, Reading School District-Reading, Pa., Reading Recreation Commission, Olivet Boys & Girls Club and Helping Harvest are providing grab-and-go meals and family food pantry boxes on weekdays, beginning on Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, March 27.

1. From 10 a.m. to noon, students can visit select schools (see flyer) to receive a packaged lunch for the day, as well as a breakfast for the following day.

2. From 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., students can visit 11th and Pike, 3rd and Spruce and the Olivet Boys and Girls clubs to receive a dinner and snacks.

3. Helping Harvest will provide family food pantry boxes. See the flyer for distribution hours and locations.

Thank you to our families for your patience as we work to coordinate plans and figure out what the next two weeks will look like for our district. A one-call and text with this meal distribution information will be sent to RSD families on Tuesday.

Also, thank you to Centro Hispano Daniel Torres and United Way of Berks County for assisting with these efforts.

Horse racing on Skyline Drive is dangerous to the public and cruel to the horses. Together we must respond to this type of illegal activity.

A Reading City Council member is looking into the legality of horse races held over the weekend on Skyline Drive.
