Congratulations to Kelsey Rauen, our Reading Blue Devil Athlete of the Week for August 24–29!

Kelsey was nominated by JV Head Volleyball Coach Abby Cooper and is being recognized as a Resilient Achiever for the perseverance, growth, and leadership she has demonstrated throughout her time in the volleyball program.

Coach Cooper shared:
“Kelsey has faced many challenges throughout my time coaching her, but she is always one who has stepped onto the court, pushed through those challenges, and come out as a leader for the new girls on the team. She has learned from those challenges, stayed focused, and really become a leader both on and off the court.”

Kelsey’s ability to work through adversity, learn from challenges, and use those experiences to become a positive influence on her teammates is a great example of what it means to be a Resilient Achiever.

Congratulations to Kelsey on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for representing Reading Blue Devil Athletics with perseverance and leadership.

Another busy week is ahead for Reading Athletics as several of our fall teams move into league competition and we get ready for another Friday night under the lights at Veterans Memorial Stadium!

CHL Play Gets Underway
League competition begins this week for our soccer and volleyball programs. Our Blue Devils will have several opportunities throughout the week to compete in Cincinnati Hills League action as the fall season continues to pick up momentum.

Friday Night Football & Youth Night
The Varsity Football team returns home Friday night to take on Woodward with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 PM. Friday will also be Reading Youth Football & Cheer Night, as we recognize our future Blue Devils and their coaches before the game at approximately 6:30 PM.

As a reminder, our student spectator policy is in effect for all home Varsity Football games. Students in 8th grade or below must enter with an adult and remain actively supervised throughout the event. Once inside the stadium, students should remain in their seats during the game and leave only to visit the concession stand or restroom. We appreciate everyone's help in creating a safe, positive, and enjoyable game-day environment for all.

Cross Country Opens Its Season
Saturday marks the beginning of the season for our Cross Country team as the Blue Devils compete in the Loveland Invitational at Home of the Brave Park. Racing is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM.

As we work to provide a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for everyone attending home Reading sporting events, Reading Schools is implementing updated expectations for students attending Varsity Football games at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Beginning with our home Varsity Football game on Friday, September 4th, the following expectations will be in place:

Entrance to Games: Students in 8th grade or below must be accompanied by an adult for entry and actively supervised throughout the event.

Seating: Students should remain in their seats during the game and should leave only to purchase something from concessions or to use the restroom. Students who are not following this expectation will be asked to return to their seats.

Travel Home: Students are expected to leave the stadium and surrounding areas promptly following the game.

Failure to comply with any of these student expectations could result in students being prohibited from attending future extracurricular events.

We appreciate the support and cooperation of our students, families, and community members as we work together to create a positive game-day experience for everyone. We look forward to seeing you at Veterans Memorial Stadium cheering on the Blue Devils!
