Excited to join R/C Theatres today for the grand reopening ceremony of the newly renovated IMAX auditorium at R/C Reading Movies 11 & IMAX in Downtown Reading.

Today’s celebration was extra special as we officially marked the occasion by cutting 70MM IMAX film from Harry Potter instead of a traditional ribbon. A very cool moment for everyone in attendance. 🎬

Following the ceremony, we got a first look inside the upgraded IMAX auditorium, and watched trailers for upcoming films showcasing the new screen, sound, and overall experience.

Thank you to Scott Cohen and the entire R/C Theatres team for their continued investment in Reading and downtown entertainment. Investments like this keep building momentum in our city and help make Reading a destination for residents and visitors across Berks County.

Also appreciate the support from our local elected officials, including the Berks County Commissioners, Council President Reed, and State Rep Cepeda-Freytiz who joined us today to celebrate this exciting investment in our community.

The City of Reading joined Ethosource and Wyatt Seating to celebrate a transformative $6.5 million investment that will bring new life to a long-vacant industrial property off of Kutztown Road.

What sat empty for years will soon become a 109,000-square-foot center for manufacturing, operations, and innovation. Creating jobs, supporting local businesses, and continuing the momentum happening across our city.

Thank you to John Gallen, Nat Gallen, Pennsylvania DCED Deputy Secretary Rick Vilello, Senator Judy Schwank, the Berks County Commissioners, and everyone who helped make this project possible.

This is what partnership, investment, and belief in Reading looks like.

Today, Mayor Eddie Moran, members of Reading City Council, and City officials officially broke ground on a major solar energy project at the Public Works campus β€” another important step toward a cleaner, more sustainable future for Reading. β˜€οΈ

In partnership with Schneider Electric, the project will bring 4,255 solar panels to City facilities and is expected to eliminate electricity costs at City Hall and Public Works by 2027 while generating an estimated $13.5 million return on investment over 20 years.

This investment will help reduce air pollution, stabilize energy costs, protect City vehicles from extreme weather, and move Reading closer to our goal of 100% renewable energy by 2050.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible, including our Public Works team, Sustainability Office, Environmental Advisory Council, project partners, and community supporters.
