Updating & maintaining all 911 equipment & info for the Richland Parish Emergency Call Center

This company creates 911 addresses for new homes or businesses and maps them for all emergency personnel. The maps are uploaded to the Richland Parish Sheriff's Office to be seen by their dispatchers.

911 signs are created here and placed in front of new and existing structures.

🎉The first phase of our 911 sign replacement project is almost done with nearly 400 markers placed!

This greatly benefits our first responders in locating addresses, and it all began with YOU updating your emergency contact information. So thank you!👍

🚚Due to the vast amount of requests received, another order of 911 signs was required and is expected to arrive by October 1st. We will begin the second sweep of the parish shortly after.

💡Entergy has advised they are planning a power outage for Rayville today beginning at approximately 8:00 PM-2:00 AM in order to upgrade circuits

⚠Update 3:30 PM Entergy adv affected customers have already received notice

⚠Update 9/3 @ 8:15 AM; The planned outage ended roughly at 1:00 AM this morning. Any comments with foul language have been hidden. 🎗Please remember, this is a public page, and we simply relay important information to the public. Most of the people this post reached were thankfully not affected.

☎️The 911 call stats are in for August & surprise surprise…it’s another scorcher ☀️

Thankfully, it didn’t surpass last month’s massive call volume. But don’t let that fool you☝️At just 50 calls away from it, this is still a historical record with the highest number of calls received in any August for the Richland Parish Emergency Call Center‼️

💪 The Richland Parish calltakers and dispatchers continue to work diligently, managing the large growth in emergency calls. Records were being set nearly 11 months ago, and their response has not wavered. Whether that be answering times, call handling, or dispatching. And with more construction projects on the way, we don’t expect the numbers to decrease📈

🛠️But rest assured, they are capable and well-equipped with the tools needed for the current growth. And with training expected by the end of the year, we hope this will strengthen their core skills and elevate their capabilities to another level

🚓🚑🚒We appreciate the dispatchers and all first responders for their continued commitment to our parish, no matter what comes.

⚠️This week alone, the Richland Parish Emergency Call Center has dispatched nearly 30 fire-related calls! These include brush fires, controlled burns, fire alarms & vehicle fires.

Fires spread rapidly when dry grass acts as fuel, so please be mindful of the drought, heat, and wind when:

🔥Throwing out a cigarette
🔥Burning debris

🔎Research area burn bans just to be safe 🔍

🔔The Richland Parish Emergency call takers and dispatchers have been hard at it again!

July made 6 months in a row of historic, record-breaking numbers of 911 calls received for our parish‼️

📞6,845 calls so far this year
📞5,238 calls this time last year

Since creation of the RPCD Office, we have ensured the RPSO Emergency Call Center has up-to-date hardware and software. Today, they are capable of digitally mapping 911 calls, receiving text-to-911, and integrating 911 call info into the computer dispatch system for quicker call entries. Despite the toll they are facing, they are capable of handling this high demand! 💪

Thank you to all of the dispatchers and first responders as they continue to serve our growing parish 💙🖤💛♥️

☀️Santana said it best: “Man, it’s a hot one!”🥵But this month we’ve completed a good portion of the parish, placing nearly 100 signs across Bee Bayou & Mangham alone!👏👏We are on track to wrap up our first round of 911 sign placement across the parish by Sept 1.

🙏Thank you for your patience as our 2 employees tackle this necessary challenge!

🐮LIVESTOCK OWNERS🐴

Our office has begun the process of pulling outdated, written data from a binder & digitally mapping all livestock areas with owner names and contact info. This information will be used when livestock escape and create potential traffic and/or property damage issues.

📲We will be attempting to contact all livestock owners based on this binder data to ensure the contact and location information is up-to-date. But if you own multiple goats, sheep, cows, donkeys, horses, etc. please feel free to contact our office, as well!

Once this project is complete, this should provide the RPSO dispatchers accurate information and will reduce the number of unnecessary calls made to incorrect owners, allowing for quicker rounding-up of cattle and mending of fences.👍

📣We are excited to announce that our very own Richland Parish 911 Director, Elizabeth Lewis, has successfully completed APCO’s extensive Public Safety Telecommunicator Instructor program. Our office will now house the parish’s only PSTI 👏

We look forward to her being able to train, certify, and re-certify all of the dispatchers in the Richland Parish Emergency Call Center🚨

🙏🏽Thank you to the Richland Parish 911 Board of Directors for allowing her to enroll in this vital training program. And to APCO Instructor Diana Scott for her dedication and invaluable input over the last 5 weeks!

📈The stats are in for June, and it's yet another record-high for Richland Parish🥵

This increase affects each of the 8 call-takers, and we greatly appreciate their continual service, despite their ever-increasing load

While we aren't quite pleased with the large volume of 911 calls, we do take pride in the persistence and dedication of the dispatchers and first responders pushing through💪

We can't do much to ease their load, but keeping streets and addresses updated for them to locate makes things quicker and easier for them to perform their duties. Thank you for helping us do that by updating your address and requesting 911 markers 👍
