The Acadia Parish burn ban has been lifted effective immediately following the recommendation of parish fire chiefs.

🔥 Burn Ban – Acadia Parish 🔥

Beau Petitjean, Police Jury President, has issued a burn ban due to ongoing dry conditions affecting the parish and surrounding areas.

🚫 NO outdoor burning of trash, leaves, or debris
✅ BBQs allowed only if attended and fully extinguished
⚠️ Dry conditions increase the danger

This burn ban will remain in effect until further notice and will be lifted only when conditions improve. Following it helps protect our homes, property, and the firefighters who serve our community.

Two weeks ago, on August 5, I officially qualified to continue serving as your Rayne City Marshal – Ward One. With no opposition at the close of qualifying, I am incredibly humbled and grateful to have the opportunity to serve our community for another six years.

When I first took office, I made a commitment to serve with respect, fairness, dedication, and integrity. That commitment hasn’t changed—and neither has my appreciation for the people who have trusted me with this responsibility.

Serving as your City Marshal is a privilege I have never taken lightly. There have certainly been some long days, late nights, and more than a few headaches along the way. And if you ask the ladies in my office, they’ll probably tell you I’ve been the cause of a few of theirs, too. 😂 Somehow, they’ve managed to put up with me this long—and now we get to keep doing what we do for another six years!

I could not do this job without the people who stand beside me every day. I am incredibly thankful for my staff, our law enforcement partners, City Court, and everyone who works behind the scenes to help us serve this community.

Most importantly, to the residents of the City of Rayne and Ward One, thank you. Thank you for the confidence you have placed in me, for the encouragement, the conversations, the kind words, and yes—even the occasional constructive criticism. I appreciate it all more than you know.

I’m proud of what we have accomplished during my first term, but there is still plenty of work ahead. I look forward to continuing to work hard, serve fairly, and do my part to make Ward One and the City of Rayne a community we can all be proud to call home.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your trust, your support, and the privilege of continuing to serve you.

Another six years may be official, but my commitment remains the same: show up, work hard, treat people right, and serve this community to the very best of my ability.

🐸🍳 The folks KLFY News 10 stopped by the Rayne Frog Festival and caught Marshal Stacy Ancelet cooking up some frog legs.

Around here, protecting the peace and cooking with grease apparently go hand in hand. 😅

🚧 Big things coming to LA Hwy 1096! 🚧

Rayne City Marshal and Governor Jeff Landry, along with other local community leaders, were on hand today for the groundbreaking of the LA Hwy 1096 rehabilitation project right here in Acadia Parish.

If you’ve driven this road lately, you already know it’s been needing some attention. With all the potholes and rough spots, this is a much-needed fix for our community.

We also want to recognize our local leadership—this project came after a request from Acadia Parish Police Jury President Beau Petitjean, who worked to bring this much-needed improvement to our area.

We’re thankful to see the State stepping in and working alongside local leaders to make travel safer for everyone who uses Soldier Road and N. Riceland every day.

It’s always good to see folks coming together to take care of home. 💛
