For those of us who call the Gulf Coast home, this is a reminder that preparation is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves, our families, and our neighbors. Now is the time to review your emergency plans, check your supplies, secure important documents, and stay informed through trusted weather sources. A storm may never come our way, but being prepared today can make all the difference tomorrow. As we begin this hurricane season, let’s also remember the strength and resilience of our community. Time and time again, we’ve faced challenges together, supported one another, and come out stronger on the other side.

Stay prepared. Stay informed. Stay safe.

In an effort to proactively reduce mosquito activity throughout our community, the City of Raymondville will be conducting mosquito spraying operations this evening and again tomorrow morning. The City of Raymondville remains committed to providing a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for all residents. We appreciate your cooperation, and patience.

What an unforgettable and deeply moving evening it was. Not only as a City Commissioner, but as President of the Bearkat Band Boosters, my heart is filled with pride for these incredible young men and women. To witness them receive the prestigious John Philip Sousa Foundation Sudler Shield presented by Professor Keith Bearden from Texas Tech University was more than a moment… it was a first in history in the Rio Grande Valley. This honor is not just an award; it is the culmination of years of sacrifice, discipline, and unwavering commitment. Behind every note played and every step taken is a story of early mornings, late nights, and a belief in something bigger than themselves. Our students, directors, and families have poured their hearts into this program, and tonight, that dedication was recognized. I am beyond proud, proud of their resilience, proud of their excellence, and proud of the legacy they continue to build for our beloved community. This is a moment we will carry with us forever. Thank you to everyone who stands behind this band and believes in what these students represent.
