🚨 Raymondville ISD Summer School Cancellation Notice 🚨

Due to inclement weather and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our students and staff, all Raymondville ISD summer school classes are canceled for Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

This cancellation applies only to summer school students, teachers, and paraprofessionals who were scheduled to report for summer school.

Our Raymondville Bearkat Band is making memories in Washington, D.C.! 🇺🇸🎶

Today, our talented students had the incredible honor of giving a patriotic performance at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial as part of the America 250 celebration! What a proud moment for Raymondville ISD, our community, and our Bearkat family.

We are beyond proud of these amazing kids, their hard work, dedication, and the way they continue to represent Raymondville with excellence wherever they go! Way to go, Bearkat Band! 💙💛🎺🥁🇺🇸

Raymondville ISD is proud to announce a seamless leadership transition at LC Smith Elementary as Mrs. Ana Richmond assumes the role of principal for the 2026–2027 school year.

Mrs. Richmond has served as Assistant Principal at L.C. Smith since 2021 and brings 28 years of experience in public education to her new role. Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, librarian, RTI teacher, MTSS coordinator, Section 504 coordinator, campus testing coordinator, LPAC Chair, and assistant principal. Her experience spans early childhood, bilingual, and special education, as well as student support services and family engagement.

Mrs. Richmond holds a Master of Education in Special Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

As Principal, Mrs. Richmond is committed to continuing the tradition of excellence at L.C. Smith Elementary by supporting student achievement, strengthening partnerships with families, and fostering a positive learning environment for all students.

Raymondville ISD is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Camille Cavazos as District Programs Administrator. 💙💛

Dr. Cavazos has served as principal of LC Smith Elementary for the past five years, leading the campus to consecutive A ratings in 2024 and 2025. Additionally, the campus earned multiple state academic distinctions every year during her tenure.

In her new role, she will support districtwide academic programs, campus leaders, and strategic initiatives to help ensure high-quality educational opportunities for all students.
