Forest Rangers, NYS Troopers, firefighters, and even ironworkers from Akwesasne helped with recovery efforts at Ground Zero.

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, we pause here in the Adirondacks to join New Yorkers and communities across the nation in remembrance.

We honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders and public servants who answered the call, and all those whose lives were forever changed by the attacks.

Twenty-five years later, we remember their lives, their service and their sacrifice. We will never forget.

The Agency has launched two new public facing mapping resources designed to make Agency data easier to find, understand and use. The upgrades include Lookup Lite, an interactive mapping application, and an improved APA Arc GIS Hub website, which provides streamlined access to the Agency's publicly available datasets.

Together, the tools expand public access to Adirondack Park geographic information system (GIS) data while offering different levels of functionality for residents, property owners, local government officials, researchers and other users.

The Adirondack Park Agency has upgraded its GIS data system to be more user-friendly.

Hey, ! Here’s your backcountry report. Conditions can change rapidly going into the weekend.

🔦 Don’t get left in the dark! Not having a light source is one of the most common causes of search and rescues.
✔️ Have a Plan B! Backup plans prepared ahead of time encourage you to adapt to changing conditions.
😎 Bring salty snacks or electrolytes to help with hydration. Water can only go so far, and electrolyte imbalances from overhydration can also be dangerous.
🕷️ Ticks are active– stay on trail and wear light, long, tucked-in sleeves to prevent and detect them.

🌜 Sunrise = 6:05 a.m.; Sunset = 7:52 p.m.
