Update at 5:30 pm: The repair has been made and water service restored. As with any repair, the water may appear white or cloudy due to air in the line

*****************

There is a water break in Olive Circle. Water is shut off in the area to allow for repairs. Please drive safely around crews and equipment.

Repairing a water break involves these steps:
*obtain 811 locates from other utilities such as gas and electric,
*excavate,
*identify the specific break location and type,
*repair the break,
*restore water service and monitor for additional breaks, and
*backfill.

Depending on the size and type of the break, these repairs take an average of 3 – 5 staff between 8 and 20 hours. Our crews will remain on site as long as allowed to make the repair.

Information regarding breaks is generally posted on our website and Facebook. These are typically only posted between 7 am and 8 pm and contain the location of the break and area affected.

This post will typically be updated when the repair is complete. However, regular updates are not usually shared as the crews are focusing on making the repairs and they do not send updates at each step.

Sharing for our friends at WYDOT District 1 - Southeast Wyoming - work has begun on the new pedestrian underpass near the rec ball fields! Please note this will require a complete road closure, likely in June, so follow our page or WYDOT for updates.

⚠ RAWLINS, Wyo. — Crews with Reiman Corp. and the Wyoming Department of Transportation have begun mobilizing for work along the US 287 Bypass/Higley Boulevard corridor for a new pedestrian underpass.

Initial work will take place just south of the intersection with Aberdeen/Harshman and will primarily involve dirt work in the right-of-way. This work will require shoulder closures and reduced speed limits to allow crews to safely complete grading, excavation, stormwater, and drainage installation activities. Speed limits through the work zone will be reduced from 40 MPH to 30 MPH.

Work during this phase will include grading and digging operations associated with stormwater and drainage improvements. Motorists should expect west-side shoulder closures throughout the project area, but minimal impacts on traffic are anticipated beyond reduced speeds.

The public is encouraged to obey all posted signs, signals, flaggers, and other traffic control, and avoid distractions like cell phones while driving through work zones.

This phase of work is expected to continue into early June. Additional information regarding future road closures and detour routes will be provided as construction progresses. All project scheduling is subject to change, including due to inclement weather and material availability.
