We are a committee comprised of parents and community members with a unified goal to enhance our city park with updated, all-inclusive playground equipment for our community to enjoy.

🎁🎄Merry Christmas, park-goers! 🎄🎁

The new teeter-totter airplane just landed in the city park! Take advantage of the beautiful weather this week and try it out. Then a few more purchases are planned for springtime installation.

Two updates and an ask:

•We found contacts for plaques and signs!

• Our latest grant allowed us to revisit a few other wishlist items we couldn’t previously purchase, so look for announcements on new items once our purchases have been finalized. Item number 1 on our list: a second belt swing!

• In adding finishing touches to the playground, we have another ask for our incredibly generous community members: is anyone willing to contribute empty oil drums to serve as trash receptacles?

We love seeing our community members enjoying the park so much this spring!

Now that the benches are in place and the weather is nicer, we are looking for contacts to create our bench plaques for platinum donors and a comprehensive donor recognition sign. If you know of a business or person who has experience creating something similar to these pictures, please leave their name(s) below!

Major THANKS to MFA Incorporated for a third generous donation to our project, and for submitting a match request to CoBank on our behalf! Both organizations contributed $3000 each, bringing MFA’s total to over $12,500 throughout the duration of this project! We also received an anonymous donation of $500 this month. We are grateful for each and every contribution!

It has been such a delight to see children able to utilize the space, and that is all thanks to our community members and local donors.

Looking toward the next phase of this project, if anyone has contact information for local businesses able to create a welcome/donor sign, we would appreciate any recommendations.

All final playground pieces have been installed, and the equipment is safe to enjoy!

We ended up slightly over budget, but once we are able to replenish our funds, we will add additional amenities like benches and a donor/welcome sign.

Thank you, again, to all who contributed financially or with installation. Stay tuned for formal donor and volunteer recognition!

Look what our amazing community was able to come together and do! ❤️

As a reminder, the surfacing still needs 48 hours to properly dry and cure. Please stay out of the fenced area until further notice.

The safety-fill installers will arrive TOMORROW!

PLEASE refrain from entering the playground area while the installers are working and for 48 hours following completion of installation to allow for proper curing. We’re so excited for the space to be used, but it is imperative to let the surfacing properly dry to prevent damage.

What a beautiful sight to see this morning!

The sidewalks are all poured! The lower-level was completed last night. Now we wait to hear when the safety-fill installers can get us on their schedule.

We’ve said it before, but can’t echo it enough: THANK YOU to all those involved in turning the vision of this project into a reality.

So grateful for our crew of amazing volunteers who got the forms in place for sidewalks and completed the first concrete pour this week! Once the sidewalks are done, we will be able to install the pour-in-place safety-fill. These are the last steps needed before being able to safely use the equipment!

Huge, huge thanks to 4 Rivers MFA for delivering the first load of retaining wall blocks to get our project back in motion! We are also grateful to the group of volunteers who began setting the blocks last night.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Due to weather delays, we were scheduled to have the safety-fill installed June 3rd, but we had to ask the company to postpone installation due to not having the surrounding sidewalks completed. We need more volunteers to set forms and construct the sidewalk, as it will serve as the edging for our safety-fill.

We would love to have this completed in time for kids to take advantage of the new equipment this summer. If you can help - or if you know of anyone with concrete experience willing to volunteer their time or provide guidance - please let us know! Thank you!
