On February 24, 2026, Corrections Officer Austin Wilson was criminally charged following an investigation conducted by our office and was immediately placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of both the criminal and administrative investigations.
Following the completion of the administrative investigation and a pre-disciplinary conference held on May 27, 2026, it was determined that Wilson violated multiple agency policies and standards of conduct. The investigation substantiated allegations involving Conduct Unbecoming an Officer, along with other departmental policy violations.
On May 28, 2026, Austin Wilson was formally notified that his employment with the agency was terminated effective immediately.
While the criminal proceedings remain ongoing and have not yet reached a final disposition, the findings of the administrative investigation clearly warranted termination of employment.
As with all employees covered under collective bargaining agreements, union representation retains the ability to appeal this disciplinary decision through the applicable grievance procedures.
