The Portage County Commissioners will reconsider their video live streaming at the meeting on Thursday.

The Portage County Young Democrats have setup another contact form on our website – it’s live right now! Please consider sharing the link with your members, as the form will email all three Commissioners, and their clerk, directly. The more responses they receive, the harder it becomes to say no.

The Portage County Commissioners are reconsidering video live streaming for their meetings, but it could take months (or years) for a permanent solution. Take 30 seconds to tell them to keep live streaming through zoom!

The Portage County Commissioners are proposing resolutions to discontinue holding their meetings on an online streaming platform so that meetings would be open to the public only in person while we are observing COVID restriction protocols.

This would result in citizens not having access to live meeting discussions- only to meeting minutes after the fact unless they want to breach COVID protocols to attend the live meeting. The reason for the proposed change is being attributed to audio issues which can be resolved in other ways.
