**THIS IS AN EXERCISE** Today is THE DAY. Training with a full-scale exercise led by Portage County Emergency Management Agency staffed by more than 100 of our besties, aka first responders. Thanks to them and their agencies for being all in on this critical drill.

From 7 am to 3 pm, drivers/neighbors may see increased activity around these areas during the time period:
• Portage County Emergency Operations Center (SR 59)
• The Ravenna Service Garage (Oakwood Street)
• The City of Ravenna building

‼️For the residents that live near the Oakwood Street (Ravenna) area, there will be an increased presence of first responders and other simulation materials (i.e., a smoke machine, lights and sirens, a mock rail car, etc.)‼️

The full-scale drill will test all facets of the new emergency operations center, focusing on response coordination with one municipality impacted by the tornado and complicated by a developing hazardous materials incident that will require a command unit in the field.

Ravenna Township residents are invited to join us for coffee and conversation as we discuss the Township’s **upcoming EMS levy**.

We know residents may have questions about the levy, our EMS operations, staffing, call volume, equipment, and what it takes to provide emergency medical services to our community. This is an opportunity to stop by, meet your Fire & EMS crews, and get your questions answered directly.

While you’re here, take a look at our apparatus and equipment and learn a little more about what your fire department does day to day.

ONE FULL-TIME FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC
• EMTs and current Paramedic students will be considered
• Lateral transfers are encouraged to apply
• Pay dependent on qualifications
• 48-hour work week
• Kelly Day

TWO PART-TIME FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC POSITIONS
• EMTs and Advanced EMT/Intermediates will be considered
• Pay dependent on qualifications

That gear isn't cheap: a cardiac monitor runs $30K–$40K, a LUCAS chest compression device is $15K–$20K, and a fully-equipped ambulance can run $250K–$400K.
