**THIS IS AN EXERCISE**
This is the participant roster for the 2026 Portage County Emergency Management Agency and Portage County Local Emergency Planning Committee drill that took place this week in three locations in the county. Impressive, yeah? EMA and LEPC THANK the dedicated professionals who came out to practice and learn/review the ropes of responding to a major weather incident--tornado--and a hazardous materials spill in our county. More than 100 individuals from all of these agencies participated under the leadership of the PC EMA. So if you know the men and women who direct and staff these organizations, know they are always training to respond and let them know they are appreciated!

Preparing Together. Responding Together.

Several members of the Portage County Health District team had the opportunity to participate in the 2026 Portage County EMA and Local Emergency Planning Committee Full-Scale Exercise this week.

More than 100 participants from local, county, and state agencies came together for a large-scale emergency response exercise conducted across multiple locations in Portage County.

PCHD team members participated in several roles throughout the exercise, working alongside our emergency response partners through realistic scenarios designed to test communication, coordination, public information, and emergency response capabilities. PCHD also served as one of the exercise locations, hosting the Simulation Cell (SimCell).

Exercises like this allow our team to put emergency plans into practice, strengthen relationships with our partners, identify opportunities for improvement, and better prepare for a real-world emergency.

Thank you to Portage County Emergency Management Agency, the Portage County Local Emergency Planning Committee, and all of the agencies and individuals who worked together to make this exercise possible.

Preparedness is a team effort, and we are proud to be part of a community committed to working together when it matters most.
