Raton Parks & Recreation Raton, New Mexico has a variety of recreational programs, events, parks, and activities. Most of our events are annual.

Some of our programs are sponsored by the City of Raton Parks & Recreation, and some independently operated or co-sponsored. Many are weekly programs or programs that have multiple sessions throughout the year. We try to keep our listings updated, but the list is ongoing and changing. Our goal is to help visitors and citizens alike find something fun to do in Raton! MISSION STATEMENT

Applications for the 2026 soccer season are available and will be dropped of at Raton Schools this week! The Raton Soccer League will be accepting registration forms until Friday, June 19, 2026 for youth between the ages of 4 and 13. We are in need of volunteers that are willing to be referees at Friday night games or a coach for any of the teams. Please mark on the form or reach out to us if you would like to volunteer. The registration form below can be picked up at the office of Robert L. Mantz, CPA at 128 South 2nd Street in Raton, New Mexico. The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has studied and is in the final stages of designing the reconstruction of the Raton/Clayton Interchange along I-25 at US64/87 (CN: 4101691). The interchange provides critical access to the City of Raton and the City of Clayton.

The Raton Outdoor Equity Program will relaunch outdoor recreation programs for youth, providing free outdoor recreation access and activities to over 200 underserved youth and families in northeastern New Mexico. Through a new outdoor equipment lending program and seasonal youth-oriented recreational programming for biking, kayaking, disc golf, geocaching, and guided nature hikes—the program will reduce financial and geographic barriers to outdoor recreational participation. By fostering physical activity, environmental awareness, and community connection, this initiative will help revitalize outdoor culture in Raton.
