Virginia’s spring fire season is here, officially Feb. 15 – April 30. During that time, the statewide burn law is in effect, which prohibits outdoor fires between midnight and 4 p.m. 🔥🚫

Don't be fooled by the snow! Most of Virginia is in a drought caused by months of below-average rainfall. Already this year, DOF has responded to 80 wildfires that have burned nearly 800 acres.

The best ways you can prevent wildfires:
🔥 Wait until after the fire season to burn yard debris
🔥 If you must burn, avoid windy days
🔥 Never leave a fire unattended
🔥 Know the state burn law and local restrictions

🚫 Breakfast with Santa is CANCELLED Due to Inclement Weather

❄️ Due to the inclement weather and out of an abundance of caution for our community and volunteers, we are canceling our fundraiser breakfast scheduled for tomorrow, 12/6.

Morning Cpep!

Got a lil snow but we are still out here keeping things safe the best we can. Slow up some, use some caution and don’t find any parking lots to do donuts please!!

Back roads are pretty much covered, main roads are slushy and slick but seem to be flowing. Most roads were pre treated but that sometimes could be more salt from your spice cabinet!

Be careful everyone, call if you need us! Add pictures if you have a specific road you feel is in rough shape.

If the hospital staff needs a ride in please dont hesitate to call us!

Yesterday, the Rapidan Vol Fire Dept was dispatched for an Outside Fire in the area of Somerville rd. Within minutes, Pumper 10 marked up with a crew of the three and was enroute to the Incident. Chief 10 arrived on the scene shortly after P-10 was enroute and confirmed the incident and requested two additional company’s Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department Culpeper County Volunteer Fire Department for two additional brush trucks, gator, and a tanker. All crews worked together to bring the fire to extinguishment. We wanna thank our fellow departments and their assistance. Also wanna thank the neighbor for the assistance of their equipment during the incident

Yesterday Pumper 10 and Tanker 10 were dispatched to assist Orange Volunteer Fire Company on an outside fire that occurred from a round bailer. Tanker 10 was utilized as water supply, Pumper 10, which is 4wd was utilized for fire suppression and filling up brush trucks. All crews worked together to bring the fire to extinguishment.
