So we have a congratulations to send out! These 3 members have spent the last 6 months driving to and from St Ignace going through training to get Firefighter 1 and 2 certified along with Hazmat. The countless hours of studying and training and dedicating themselves to our community has to be commended! Congrats to you for becoming certified firefighters and for volunteering so much time to our community!

Today we went through a training session put on by Tom Sealander of Ensign and Escanaba Township. Members of Masonville, Ensign, Nahma, Escanaba, and Gladstone Townships were on hand to work on Burp Drafting and Relay Pumping. It was great seeing so many volunteers show up and work on things we can all bring back to our townships to help better serve them as we all need each other for mutual aid. Thank you Tom for lending us your expertise!

Just a reminder for the upcoming months. We know a lot of people are anxious to get outside, enjoy the weather, and do yard cleanup. April and May can be some of the worst months for fires so here are a couple tips while you burn. Also, the DNR have a website that shows when you can and cannot burn for everyone's safety in each county and township. https://www.dnr.state.mi.us/burnpermits/

We would like to give a big thank you to Nick Hess of Vestis (Formerly Aramark) for donating some used rugs for our office at the hall. When responding to calls we are always in a hurry to get in there and get things rolling, this way we don't ruin the carpet! Thank you for your generosity Nick!

We would like to send out a HUGE thank you to this guy! We needed a new Auger to help drill holes to pull water from lakes, ponds, and rivers to shuttle water to tankers. This will be a big asset and more reliable. Blade graciously donated this auger and hard case for our department! If you haven't been down there to check out Blade's Bait and Tackle you need to, they have everything you could want for the ice! Thanks again Blade and Lacy!
