‼ PRIME DAYS WASTE ‼
So many packages are about to hit mailboxes over the next week or two (shoutout to all the hardworking postal workers! 🙏📦) — and with that comes a lot of packaging waste.
Here's what to do with it 👇👇
✨ Bubble mailers, air pillows & plastic shipping bags – These are recyclable… just not in your blue can! You can take them to participating grocery stores that collect soft plastics (like Family Fare or Safeway). Try to remove shipping labels so your personal info isn't on there.
✨ Paper mailers – These padded envelopes (usually with the honeycomb stuff inside) say they’re recyclable but unfortunately, not here in Rapid City. We are not able to process them, so they need to go in the garbage. 😕
✨ Cardboard boxes – Yes! We love corrugated cardboard, and it is recyclable. Just make sure it’s broken down and dropped off at one of the city’s remote sites.
