Today, we celebrated the ribbon cutting and open house for our newly expanded and renovated Public Works Facility.

This project represents more than just improvements to a buildingβ€”it reflects the dedication and hard work of our Public Works team. Throughout the renovation process, staff continued to carry out their daily responsibilities while also contributing countless hours to making this project a reality.

We are proud of what has been accomplished and grateful to the employees whose efforts helped transform this facility into a space that will better support City operations for years to come.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today to celebrate this important milestone!

The community planning workshop will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 24th at Town Hall, located at 104 N King St, Shepherdstown, WV 25443.

Community members are encouraged to share their experiences, local expertise, and their vision for statewide active transportation.

Street paving operations will be conducted from June 1–4, 2026 on the following streets and alleys:

β€’ Alley #8-4-11 between W 6th Ave. and W 7th Ave.
β€’ E 3rd Ave. – Preston St. to Reyman St.
β€’ E 16th Ave. – City Line to Foal St.
β€’ Alley #8-5-5b between E 6th Ave. and E 7th Ave.
β€’ Alley #8-2-12 between Burns St. and Grassdale St.
β€’ Alley #8-5-2 between E 5th Ave. and E 6th Ave.
β€’ Railroad Ave. – Reyman St. to parking lot
β€’ Front parking lot at the Public Works Building
β€’ S. Reyman St. – E 5th Ave. to City Line
β€’ E 7th Ave. – Mildred St. to Preston St.
β€’ E 6th Ave. – Mildred St. to Fairfax Blvd.

During paving operations, street parking will not be permitted. Traffic cones will be placed the day prior as notice for temporary no parking areas.
