Taxes for FY 26/27 were committed last evening. The resulting mil rate is 7.33.

Tax bill preparation is now in progress. Bills should begin arriving in the mail as early as next week.

As a reminder, interest is not set to accrue in the Town's accounting software until October 1st.

The Board of Selectmen has called a Special Town Meeting to be held at RLRS on August 31, 2026 at 6:30PM to adopt an operating budget for the Code Enforcement/Planning Department for FY 27.

The Budget Committee and Board of Selectmen both recommend an amount of $244,134, which will fund one full-time Code Enforcement Officer and two part-time Deputy Code Enforcement Officers.

The Board of Selectmen will meet on Monday, August 24th at 5:00PM at the Town Office to conduct a joint hearing with the Planning Board on proposed amendments to Chapter 38 of Town Code (Lighting and Signs). A joint session with the Budget Committee will immediately follow the hearing to review the proposed Code Enforcement budget for FY 27.

The Board of Selectmen will conduct a special meeting tomorrow (Thursday, August 20, 2026) at 5:00PM at the Town Office to discuss its next steps regarding the Code Enforcement budget that failed at Town Meeting yesterday. Code Enforcement is a necessary service as provided in Chapter 3A of Town Code. Tax commitment (which was delayed for yesterday's meeting) is scheduled for August 31st, and the Code Enforcement budget is needed to complete that process. The agenda is here:
