TRAFFIC SUPERVISORS – RANDOLPH POLICE DEPARTMENT

MULTIPLE PART-TIME POSITION’S

The Randolph Police Department seeks a highly motivated, proactive, and community-oriented individual for the position of traffic supervisor. As part of the background check, applicants must provide their high school diploma (or equivalent), higher education diplomas, a copy of your Massachusetts driver’s license, a copy of your CPR certification, and a copy of your DD-214 (if applicable).

The Randolph Police Department has 10 traffic supervisors serving in various posts around each of our six (6) schools. On a daily basis, the traffic supervisors ensure the safety of our students as they walk and ride to and from our schools.

Currently, a Randolph Police Department traffic supervisor is compensated at $25.88 per hour. Based on the school calendar, the total yearly compensation is approximately $9,316.80 per year. A traffic supervisor position follows the school calendar, to include school cancellations, weekends, holiday’s, and school vacation weeks off. All traffic supervisors work for two (2) hours per day, with the hours varying depending on the school the traffic supervisor is assigned to. This position also includes bereavement, uniform allowance (in addition to issued equipment), and compensation for professional development.

The Randolph Police Department and our Support and Outreach Unit is proud to announce the creation of our new At-Risk Questionnaire. This voluntary program helps our department provide rapid, specialized assistance, to vulnerable community members including those with dementia, autism, or critical medical needs during an emergency. By securely sharing information such as physical descriptions, communications preferences, and favorite wandering locations, you ensure that officers can approach and interact with your loved ones with the right care and sensitivity during times of crisis. All submitted details are kept strictly confidential and are only accessed by public safety dispatchers and officers in the field when an emergency or missing person report is active.

During calls for service, officers will be equipped with a business card that contains a QR code. These business cards will be handed out to those in need so the family members and caregivers can complete the questionnaire as soon as possible.

We would like to thank Dr. Matt Riley and his staff at the May Institute for their guidance and partnership during this planning process. Through the new officer training program developed by Dr. Riley, Dr. Jenna Gilder, and Post Doctoral Intern Katherine Tackitt, our department has been fortunate to receive top notch training at the May Institute Headquarters in Randolph. As a result of this important training, our community & department has created a safer, more supportive response for autistic individuals and their families. We are looking forward to our annual National Night Out Event tomorrow!! Come on down to Belcher Park from 5PM-8PM.

We’ll have plenty of Food, K-9 Demonstrations, giveaways, and bouncy houses for the kids! Plus a few more surprises.

Our Officers look forward to this event every year and we can wait to see everyone tomorrow at 5PM!

Chief Anthony Marag regrets to announce that retired K-9 Rando, who was partnered with Officer Stephen Morse for the past decade, has passed away.

K-9 Rando was an officer with the Randolph Police Department from 2014 until his retirement in 2024. K-9 Rando was a single-purpose narcotics detection dog with unmatched drive and discipline. Over the course of his career, K-9 Rando was deployed on hundreds of occasions, as he worked to complete his mission of reducing the sale and use of illegal narcotics in the Town of Randolph and throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. More importantly, K-9 Rando was a loyal and trusted partner to Officer Morse. The bond between a K-9 and their handler is one that only few will understand; it was an honor to witness this relationship.

A quick story about Rando. In 2014, Rando's name was chosen based on entries submitted by students at the Lyons Elementary School. As dozens of entries were submitted, there was one that rose above the others; that was the name Rando. The Morse family is honored to still have the submission form with them, as it reminds them of the partnerships and bond we share with members of our community.

K-9 Rando, thank you for your service and commitment to the Town of Randolph and the Randolph Police Department. On behalf of Chief Anthony Marag, and all members of the Randolph Police Department family, our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Morse and his loved ones at this time.

We would also like to extend thanks to the Randolph Animal Hospital, for their care of Rando this past week, and throughout his entire career.

Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, is National Night Out! We cannot wait to see all of you at Belcher Park! The event will run from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

There will be plenty of activities for families, food, bounce houses, K9 demonstrations, a DJ, and time permitting, a helicopter flyover! We will also have quite a few tables set up with local vendors and groups! See the full flyer below!

The Randolph Police Department thanks the public and their law enforcement partners for helping to quickly locate a lost 6-year-old child reported missing Monday morning.
