Brush Pickup. FRIENDLY REMINDER: BRUSH PICKUP is this Wednesday, June 10, 2026 (2nd Wednesday of the month). Click HERE for Brush/Bulky Item Schedule and acceptable items.

Please remember to place the brush out the day before for early pickup on Wednesday. Truck only makes one pass and will not return for late set outs.

Notice to Residents- Utility Locate Flags

The Town of Rancho Viejo would like to remind all residents that utility locate flags and markings placed on or near private property by 811 utility locating services are critical safety markers and should not be removed, altered, relocated, or destroyed.

These flags identify the approximate location of underground utilities such as:

Natural gas lines

Water lines

Sewer lines

Electric lines

Telecommunications and fiber optic lines

The markings are placed to protect residents, contractors, utility workers, and the public from accidental damage during excavation, construction, landscaping, fence installation, irrigation work, or other ground-disturbing activities.

Removing utility locate flags can result in:

Damage to underground utility infrastructure

Service interruptions to homes and businesses

Serious injury or loss of life

Delays to construction projects

Additional costs for re-locating utilities

Potential liability for damages caused by unauthorized removal

If utility locate flags have been accidentally removed, damaged, or become difficult to identify, contractors will need to contract 811 before any digging or excavation activities continue, delaying the project.

The Town appreciates your cooperation in helping maintain a safe community and protecting critical underground infrastructure.

The Town is responding to a reported natural gas leak in the 100 block of Canteros. As a precaution, a mandatory evacuation has been ordered for the affected 4 residences. Emergency personnel and the gas utility are on scene. Residents are asked to avoid the area until further notice.
