A community vision years in the making is now a reality!

The City of Rancho Santa Margarita recently dedicated the Antonio Gateway Improvements Project, advancing the vision established by renowned planner Richard Reese in the original master plan for Rancho Santa Margarita. The project also fulfills a community-driven goal identified in SAMLARC's Landscape Master Plan, developed through resident input and adopted in 2008.

Dedicated to the residents in honor of the City's 25th Anniversary, the Antonio Gateway Monument now stands alongside the iconic Alicia Parkway "T" monument, creating gateway features that bookend our community and reflect the pride, vision, and spirit of Rancho Santa Margarita.

The Rancho Santa Margarita City Council proudly recognized Deputy Jenna Reese for her exceptional service, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to keeping our community safe.

Known for her compassion, positive attitude, and commitment to public service, Deputy Reese has earned the respect of her fellow deputies, supervisors, and residents alike. Her proactive efforts to improve roadway safety led to the arrest of 25 impaired drivers in 2025, helping prevent potential tragedies and earning her recognition with a Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Award.

Whether responding to critical incidents, supporting her colleagues, or serving residents with dignity and respect, Deputy Reese consistently exemplifies the highest standards of law enforcement. 🌟 Student Spotlight: Matthew Pettay 🌟

The Rancho Santa Margarita City Council is proud to recognize Matthew Pettay, an outstanding eleventh-grade student from Trabuco Hills High School, as a Student Recognition Program honoree.

Matthew has distinguished himself as a talented performer and dedicated leader within the Trabuco Hills High School arts program. Through his involvement in Chamber Choir, Musical Theatre, and Play Production, he has consistently demonstrated excellence, creativity, and commitment to the performing arts. His memorable performances include portraying Robert Martin in The Drowsy Chaperone, along with key roles in The Addams Family, She Kills Monsters, and Fairy Tale Detective.

Beyond the school stage, Matthew has continued to develop his talents through his work with the Renaissance Theatre Company, showcasing the remarkable artistic talent found within our community.
