September is California Pedestrian Safety Month. In partnership with the California Office of Traffic Safety, the City of Rancho Cucamonga reminds drivers and pedestrians to “Think Two Steps Ahead” and help keep our roads safe.

In California, 1,106 pedestrians were struck and killed in 2023. Whether walking or driving, stay alert, avoid distractions, follow traffic laws and look out for one another.

Drivers, slow down and yield to pedestrians at crosswalks. Pedestrians, use sidewalks and crosswalks when available, and look left, right and left again before crossing.

Together, we can create safer streets for everyone. Learn more at GoSafelyCA.org.

Join us this Friday, September 11, as we come together to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. This ceremony is open to the public, and all members of our community are invited to attend.

On September 11, 2001, 2,977 lives were lost in New York City, Arlington, Virginia, and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. We gather to honor those who lost their lives, recognize the courage and sacrifice of our first responders, and ensure their memory is never forgotten.

The City of Rancho Cucamonga's Spagnolo 9/11 Memorial Park incorporates artifacts from all three crash sites and provides a meaningful place for our community to remember, reflect, and pay tribute.

📅 Friday, September 11
⏰ 8:30–9:00 a.m.

We're excited to celebrate with Terra Vista, Valle Vista, Los Amigos, Victoria Groves, and Cucamonga Elementary as they get ready to kick off the All Kids Bike Program, which is a fun 6-week course that teaches kindergartners how to ride bicycles confidently and safely!

Students at Terra Vista Elementary School enjoyed a special bike reveal where we surprised them with their new balancing bikes and gave them the chance to hop on and test them out. Moments like these are why we invest in programs that help create a more bike-friendly Rancho Cucamonga. Building skills, boosting confidence, and helping our youngest riders explore safely!

The All Kids Bike Programs distributed were grant-funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Grant.
