Today was a great day getting out with AMR San Bernardino for the Miles That Matter 5K in support of McKinley Children’s Center.

I’ll be honest, running has never really been my thing. But it is for a lot of our team, and that’s part of leadership, being willing to step into something new because it matters to the people around you. Over time, this has become something I genuinely look forward to each month.

There’s something different about seeing everyone outside of the uniform, running side by side, encouraging each other, and sharing in something simple but meaningful. It’s a reminder that what makes a team strong isn’t just what happens on calls, but the relationships behind it.

Huge shoutout to Taylor Byars from the CARE Team Bears for an incredible performance, finishing 4th overall, an awesome accomplishment and a great reflection of the dedication and drive our people bring every day.

’ve been looking forward to this event, and it delivered. Not because of the run itself, but because of the time spent building connections with the people who make this work matter.

Those connections show up when it counts, in how we communicate, how we support each other, and how we move forward together.

Strong teams aren’t built by chance. They’re built through shared experiences, trust, and showing up for one another, on and off the job.

If you’re looking to get involved, come join the CARE Team Bears on the next run.

Keeping Care at the Center: Crew Highlight

We recently received a heartfelt call from Mrs. G, who wanted to personally recognize the crew that recently responded to her husband.

Mrs. G shared that the care her husband received during what was later identified as a STEMI made a lasting impact on their family. She credited the crew’s professionalism, compassion, and clinical excellence as a significant reason her husband is now recovering and doing well.

During the call, Mrs. G became emotional as she expressed her gratitude, emphasizing how much the crew’s actions meant during a critical and frightening moment.

This is a powerful example of what it means to keep care at the center, delivering not only high-quality clinical interventions, but also reassurance, empathy, and trust when patients and families need it most.

To Zach Steele and Rene Sanchez, thank you for representing our mission and values at the highest level. Your work truly makes a difference! We are so proud of you!
