Everything is up and running, the traffic is being controlled. Weekday evenings are best for less traffic viewing. Our neighborhood has been featured again in the daily bulletin....

The Thoroughbred Lights are open to the public from Dec. 5 through 24.

12/02/2024

The lights on the street are slowly coming on day by day. Walking is allowed through Thursday, after that the police will be controlling the flow of traffic from 5 - 11 pm. Our lights will hopefully be running by next weekend

There was some confusion last night about cyclists not being allowed to ride the lights. As far as we understand, the ordinance is for no pedestrians. We have not heard anything different. Good luck trying again tonight.

The neighborhood is almost ready to go. Many of the residents are already bright and festive.

The city has determined, unfortunately, that there will be no official pedestrian nights. Please show up early (like around 5pm) to avoid the long wait.

Once again, this is the city's choice, not ours. We would love to have everyone able to walk and enjoy the lights at their leisure.

Tonight is the last chance this season to watch our show. We'll start unplugging and packing up tomorrow. There are a few houses still on, but not many. Happy new year!

11/29/2021

Hi everyone! About 1/3 of the houses in the area are lit. Most of the houses aim to be done by the first weekend in December. Lights usually run from 530 to 10 on weekdays and 11 on weekends.

We have heard the final decision for this year's holiday light restrictions from the city/police. It will be very similar to last year... Drive-thru only from the 3rd - 24th, *EXCEPT* for the 6th - 9th, which will be pedestrian - allowed nights.

Last year they started blocking off the streets as early as 4 o'clock so plan ahead when parking (where allowed) and visiting.

Some houses will be decorated as early as Thanksgiving weekend, but the goal is the first weekend in December. The Lights run from 5:30 to 10 pm Sunday - Thursday and 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

Please visit the city's website for more information on these restrictions... http://www.CityofRC.us/holidaylights (I'm not sure why it's not working, I've contacted the city)

Also, if you would like to see a change in this policy, they need to hear "positive" feedback about how special it is to walk the lights, how it is a tradition, and how magical it is for the children. Basically all they ever hear are complaints, which leads to more restrictions. You can send your comments to [email protected]

Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

The neighborhood is starting to take down lights, but it is still beautiful up here. Our lights will run through the 1st of January. Wait times are less and less each night, but we still suggest coming early to get in line. 🎄💚❤️

Some of the houses in the neighborhood are already on, ours might be on next weekend, the 6th... Depends on the weather
