A little creativity can make a big impact! 🎨🪨

Last week during arrival, a few of our first graders were thrilled to discover what they called the “most beautiful rocks we found!” A crowd quickly gathered as students read the positive messages and admired the creativity behind each hand painted rock.

As much as they wanted to keep their treasures, they decided to place them back in nature so someone else could discover them and experience that same little moment of joy. 💛

We love seeing how student creativity can spread kindness, inspire others, and make Hubbard an even more magical place. One of the masterpieces even made its way to the art room!

A beautiful reminder that art has the power to brighten someone’s day.

Safety first! 🚌 Our kindergarten students participated in a Bus Safety Drill with Ms. Gravalis as they prepare for their upcoming fall field trip to the Ramsey Library. Students practiced important bus safety expectations and learned how to be safe, responsible riders before heading out on their first field trip of the year!

Dater students put their critical-thinking skills to work in the Media Center! 🧐📖Through a fun read-aloud, students explored different scenarios involving book care and had to think carefully about the best choices to make as responsible members of our library community. They then put their knowledge to the test with a lively game of Boom, Clap, Grab! Students had a blast while applying what they learned, explaining their thinking, and making thoughtful decisions. 📚✨

Sight word practice can be fun!✨Mrs. Klaus’ first graders are making learning hands-on by using multisensory techniques, including Play-Doh, to practice spelling their sight words. By seeing, touching, and building each word, students are strengthening their learning while having fun! 💛

In order to be able to use mathematical tools strategically, Kindergarteners in Mrs. Shand's class are spending time familiarizing with the tools and recognizing their different features. As Math Workshop unfolds throughout the year, these materials will be used for more specific mathematical purposes.
