Last week, the Friends of the Ramona Library honored the Ramona Kiwanis Club for their generous $250 donor tile donation. 🤝

From left are Ramona Kiwanis Membership Chair Darryl Albertson, Kiwanian Jeanne Bell, Kiwanis President-elect Jon Stephens (in back), Kiwanis Secretary Pat Bell, Kiwanis Treasurer Ken Bates, Friends President Maxine McNamara, Kiwanis Director Liz Albertson, and Friends Director Ramona Valencia.

The donor wall, designed by Betsy K. Schulz, provides a way to leave a lasting mark at the library--such as to honor a family member or friend, remember a loved one, or recognize your business/organization.

The Friends sponsor a majority of the free programs at the Ramona Library, and also provide scholarships to deserving Ramona high school students ($4,000 this year).

There are many other ways to support the Friends, and therefore, the Ramona Library—with donations (goods and monetary), membership, even volunteering in our bookstore. Please let us know if you want more info! 😊

The Cool Cursive Club is happening every Wednesday in September from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at the Ramona Community Library. Learn and level up skills exploring cursive handwriting with Marsha! (Geared for ages 5+)

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Ramona Library and made possible thanks to our membership dues, sponsorships, and bookstore donations and customer purchases. 🙏

The Zero Waste San Diego San Diego Fixit Clinic had a great turnout yesterday at the Ramona Community Library!

Our board member Linda Joop was SOOOO excited about having her vintage anniversary clock working properly again. In fact, she went home and returned with her sewing machine to see if she could get help with that, too!

We really enjoyed doing outreach and engaging with the community--we love to chat with people about how much the library serves !

We're so happy to announce that we have a new volunteer, Galilea, at our bookstore, The Open Book.. what a great addition to our Saturday team!

Bookstore staff get first dibs at buying books that come into the bookstore--and earn a "book buck" for each hour worked that can be used to purchase bookstore items.

And ... another benefit is feeling good about helping us fund many of the programs and events that the library provides for free to the community.
