We wanted to take a moment to share a quick update from our Public Safety Department. We are a 24/7 agency, providing services to the RCC community 365 days a year.
Our officers are highly trained in a wide range of areas, including CPR, AED use, Narcan administration, Basic Life Support, self-defense, and patrol tactics. We patrol campus in marked vehicles, SUV carts, on bicycles, and on foot, allowing us to engage with our students and faculty on a daily basis.
Community policing is at the core of what we do. We strive to build strong working relationships within our community and consistently go the extra mile to help whenever needed. In addition, we maintain 24-hour dispatch services and are always available to address questions or concerns that may arise on campus.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance. Stay safe!

****FOOD DRIVE****
Good day all, next Tuesday on Election Day we will be hosting our “Annual Election Day Food Drive” at the Suffern DARE hockey rink on Yorkshire Dr. in Suffern. All donations will be given to the Rockland Community College Food Pantry which assists local college students who could use a little extra help. Food insecurity unfortunately is a big issue and some of our students rely on these donations from us as many have limited income and limited transportation available and have a hard time getting to food banks. Our food pantry is right on our Suffern campus and assists many, many students. Items requested are canned goods and other non-perishable items such as pasta, Mac and cheese, etc. We’ll be collecting from 9am-1pm and any donations will be greatly appreciated! Thank you and have a great week!

One of the things that our department does is consistently ensuring that we keep up with changing times to ensure the safety of all of our students, faculty and visitors. We routinely assess our practices and safety policies and adjust them when we feel it is needed to provide maximum protection for all. As always feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks for the support and stay safe!
