Can you chip in a dollar to support a grassroots campaign? 💸

There are 17 days left until the primary. I’m working on sending out more mailers every day in addition to my handwritten postcards, but there are thousands of people I need to reach and each mailer costs $1.05. 💌

I’m so proud to say that the average donation to my campaign is $24.25. This campaign is truly powered by the people. Real, working class people who are ready to see themselves represented in our local government. 🤝

I’m a union member, renter, teacher, volunteer, and grad student. If elected, I’d be the youngest member of the board. Depending on how the Republican primaries go, I could be the only woman on the county board. The only one.

Please consider donating $1.05 today. Yes, I’m serious. $1.05. That’s enough for you, one person, to reach one other person.

The most scandalous thing about this photo is how dirty my bathroom mirror was.

Earlier today, somebody repeated a conversation they had where somebody said that a woman’s Facebook photo of her wearing a tank top changed their mind about voting for her. A tank top.

I wore a sweatshirt and jeans to go file for office. When I was dropping off yard signs the other day, I wore sweatpants and a baseball cap while I chatted with a voter for nearly an hour. I sometimes even dare to wear tank tops in public. Guess what? The sky didn’t fall!

Women need to spend so much time every day just on their appearance in order to be taken half as seriously as men. Men who post pictures in dorky shirts. Men who wear flannels to town halls. Men who never have to think twice about what they’re wearing. We are literally at an automatic disadvantage just because we’re women.

So today, I’ll post a photo of me in a tank top. If my arms — or anyone else’s — offend you, you have some serious soul searching to do.

⭐️Teachers are great decision-makers. We make more decisions per day than brain surgeons! We’re also used to making sound decisions under pressure.

⭐️We don’t just talk about supporting our growing communities - we do it every day through a career in public service.

⭐️We are strong communicators. We’re used to making complicated topics more accessible to people.

⭐️We have experience working with diverse groups of people to work towards common goals.

⭐️Teachers are skilled listeners and relationship-builders. We know how to connect, and we truly care
