Vote Terry Hicks

I’m asking for your consideration when casting your vote for Crosby County Commissioner Precinct 1 tomorrow.

There are so many issues I want to be a part of addressing.

I want to be a part of big plans. Starting with listening and responding to the conditions affecting the residents and those passing through the Precinct 1 area of Crosby county. Turning slab traveled areas into actual TXDOT FM roads if it is a heavily traveled area. If it has issues too big for the county to handle, I want the opportunity to address it with our State Representative. Get ‘em here to view it first hand and get a vow to help. Rather than continue to have vehicles tore up and safety issues arising.

I want to vigorously pursue the matter of illegal dumping that is plaguing our county and Pct.1. To address the “junkyard” residences and areas as well. Not to interfere with a property owners rights of course, but if there are safety concerns or hazardous materials, I want to help with ways to remedy the problem rather than just keep looking past it and watching it build up and continue year after year. I want us all to look around and have a sense of pride in what we see, the roads we travel down.

I want to see us addressing the berms on the roads on a consistent persistent basis and not just once there is a built up over the years, let’s work to have them serving the purpose intended and ditches be dug out correctly and cleaned out all over Pct. 1. to get the water (when we get it lol) off of the roads.

There’s federal government money out there and set aside and available to help with this. None of this is an overnight fix and I realize will take some time to complete but working towards these goals increases the chances of getting there. It improves the workability of our area and just plain helps all of us. I know it is easy to complain and assume what should be getting done, I can assure you I’ll work constantly on what matters. I’ll listen and respond without excuses.

Things like putting a stop to the rampant dumping. I can PROMISE you would see a difference in Pct.1 each and every day. It is a matter of pride for me not to slow down, even at night, during storms or on holidays. Working towards what matters matters to me.

I’m asking for your consideration when casting your vote for Crosby County Commissioner Precinct 1.

There are so many issues I want to be a part of addressing.

These fires in the Panhandle and those closer - have hit close to home, especially yesterday. Please be extra careful. It is extremely dry and the winds are up. Homes, vehicles, equipment, livestock…but mostly lives are at stake. We all have to do our part. We all have to look out for each other, be there for each other.

Time to vote
I am asking for your vote for Commissioner of Crosby County Precinct 1.

I think one of the most important things with anything is communication. Simply communicating, posting and informing on what’s going on and what’s getting done about it. Keeping citizens updated on the happenings in their county, in their precinct.

Let me tell you what I do know
I know to pull ditches when it’s dry. I know when there’s no moisture at all roads run board like crazy and blading then turns it into a dust bowl. I know culvert installation prevents future problems and redundancy.

I have had TXDOT contracts over the years for conservation planning and management and have worked at the county, state and federal level on application paperwork and grants.

I look around and know illegal dumping needs to be stopped and ticketed.

Just a matter pride and a focus on improvement, for our county and the place we call home.

I am asking for your vote over the next few weeks for Crosby County Commissioner, Precinct 1.

As most in the area, we are probably having the same thoughts and convictions about many of the same things, at least I hope so. We want what’s best for Crosby County in Precinct 1. Whenever something comes up, the way I look at it, what’s going to be good for Crosby County.
If it’s good for Crosby County and it’s good for Precinct 1, I will be voting for it.

I am a 24/7 man not an 8 to 5’er. If my neighbor calls or anyone in my community for that matter with an issue or needing help “we don’t have the money or time” isn’t my go-to. We’re going to figure it out. No hang-ups, no excuses.
