The Federation will be hosting a free virtual sharing session, "K-12-Ready Resources for History Organizations!" Please join in on May 12, 2-3:30, if you work with a history organization and hope to engage K-12 groups!

This panel discussion for Federation members by Federation members will share America 250 NC resources that have proven successful with K-12 students. Staff at the Caldwell Heritage Museum and Stanly County Museum have been actively visiting classrooms and welcoming students to their sites to engage with the commemoration. Resources are ready for you to do so too in your own communities. Join in to learn tips to plan with teachers for fall programs in time for the state's 250th! Register,

Another of our member organizations, the N.C. NC Military Historical Society co-sponsors a student special prize in military history. These students from Camp Lejeune High School recently performed moving eulogy readings as part of National History Day’s newest Silent Heroes™ initiative: Untold Stories from the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.

The Federation is proud to be the fiscal sponsor for National History Day in NC and several of our members fund special prize awards at the state contest. Another of our members, the North Carolina Association of Historians sponsors a special prize for world history. This screenshot from a student website is a great example of one of this year's contestants.
