Interested in becoming an Officer in the United States Marine Corps? Every Navy ROTC unit hosts Marine Corps Midshipmen on dedicated Marine Option scholarships! Joining a unit will allow you to commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the USMC once you attend OCS (Officer Candidate School) for six weeks and graduate college with a degree.

If you receive a scholarship, you will receive 100% tuition, a monthly stipend and a book stipend each semester. While in ROTC, you develop leadership skills, physical training, lifelong connections amongst your peers, and more. You will also have the opportunity to go to summer trainings, further helping you become better equipped to be an Officer in the USMC.

Happy Monday! Friday at our Battalion’s alternative lab, OC Beando, OC Mogray, OC Gainey, and OC Gore all promoted to E5!! Congrats to the new OC’s.

Why should you apply to the STA-21 (Seaman to Admiral) program? E4’s who get picked up will be promoted to E5’s! Some other program benefits include still receiving your rate pay, benefits, and privileges while completing your degree, along with an annual educational stipend and ultimately a pathway to commissioning⚓️⚓️

August 19 marked our first Battalion Lab to start off the school year!! Our new Commanding Officer, Captain Cane, introduced himself to the unit. We are excited for you to be here Sir!

Happy FDOC! Last week before school started, our new MIDN went through NSO (Naval Student Orientation) where they became introduced to our unit including meeting our staff and other MIDN, as well as learning regulations/expectations. On the last day, they went to Camp Butner to test their mental and physical strength. MIDN went on a weighted three mile hike and conducted a confidence course as a team. The day ended with a ROTC cookout as a good job for their efforts during NSO.

MIDSHIPMEN CRUISE SHOUTOUT‼️‼️

For his summer cruise, Marine option MIDN 2/C Dausman spent a month at Fleet Marine Force (FMF) in Camp Pendleton, California. At FMF, Midshipman receive hands-on training exposure to help become sufficient further Marine Corps Officers.

MIDN Dausman’s favorite memory during training was doing the infantry immersion trainer (IIT) because it was a closely accurate real town with real weapons and enemy forces. He also enjoyed firing explosives with a combat engineering battalion, climbing the 1st Sgt’s hill, and getting the opportunity to talk to junior officers about their different experiences serving.

His favorite thing to do when he was not training was going to the San Diego Zoo! Semper Fi!!

MIDSHIPMEN CRUISE SHOUTOUT‼️‼️

MIDN 2/C Harris recently went to Norfolk, VA and boarded the USS Nitze (DDG-94) for her second class summer cruise. During her cruise, she had the opportunity to go underway and es**rt NATO ships into Norfolk for America’s 250th anniversary.

Her favorite memories from her cruise are being able to shoot the .50-caliber machine gun off the boat and conduct man overboard drills! Go Navy!!

MIDSHIPMEN CRUISE SHOUTOUT‼️‼️

MIDN 4/C TerBurgh, Riggs, Sanchez, Kennedy, and McGrath spent the past month in San Diego, California at Cortramid West. Cortramid is 4 weeks long where rising 3/C spend a week with different communities including Aviation, Submarine, Surface Warfare, and Marines.

Their favorite experiences include flying the T-34 during aviation week, exploring San Diego, and going to Padres games!!

MIDSHIPMEN CRUISE SHOUTOUT‼️‼️

Midshipman 1/C Lillich and Midshipman 1/C O’Connor recently went on their aviation cruise in Lemoore, California at the VFA-125 squadron. VFA-125, the “Rough Raiders”, is a Fleet Replacement Squadron that trains both Navy and Marine Corps pilots and personnel to fly the F-35C Lightning II.

MIDN O’Connor’s favorite thing was “definitely getting a backseat ride it the jet. They took us through the Sidewinder which was a path through the mountains where we did aerobatic stuff.” He also loved going over to kings canyon and sequoia national forest to go hiking/camping.
