On June 6, 1944, in Operation Overlord (D-Day), Allied forces landed troops on the beaches of Normandy, France, for the largest amphibious assault in history. Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which, “we will accept nothing less than full victory.” Today we honor all the Allied forces who stood defiant against N**i tyranny on land, at sea and in the air 82 years ago.
