🌡️ Dangerous heat is forecast Thursday and Friday. A Heat Advisory is in place for portions of central NC from 11AM to 8PM tonight.

⛈️ Severe thunderstorms are possible in northern areas on Thursday before spreading across western and central NC on Friday.

🏠 Limit outdoor exposure and stay indoors if possible.
🥤 Drink plenty of water.
👕 Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing.

North Carolina Governor Stein has proclaimed June as DeafBlind Awareness Month! Nationally the last full week of June is recognized as DeafBlind Awareness Week.

The event will take place on May 30, 2026 from 12 – 4 PM at the Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem, NC.

Plus, visit our non‑profit exhibitors offering essential resources for Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, and individuals with Speech Disabilities. Mark your calendars—you won’t want to miss it!

Fayetteville Community Conversation, hosted by the DSDHH Raleigh Regional Center

Have you experienced communication barriers here in North Carolina? We want to hear what happened and how it affected you because your story matters!

DSDHH is collecting stories from Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind individuals, family members, interpreters, and anyone connected to the community. Your feedback will help improve communication access across our state.

ASL interpreters and CART captioning will be provided. You can request additional accommodations when you RSVP (more information below).
